Are you feeling unlike yourself lately? Sometimes we can experience overwhelm, negative moods, frustration, and even physical symptoms as we attempt to navigate so many aspects of life.
When you want to reflect your true capabilities, uncovering emotional and psychological barriers can not only support your identified goals but enrich your overall wellbeing, relationships, and sense of purpose.
I use a highly individualized and integrative therapy approach that identifies your strengths, offers evidence-based strategies to fill your toolbox and connects you to a greater sense of empowerment. My approach is both directive and collaborative; a partnership that feels productive and comfortable. We will explore your inner and outer world to understand what needs to shift so you can flourish in your life. I utilize psychoeducation so clients can understand both the why’s and how’s of therapy. It is important that you are well equipped to increase your coping strategies and be confident that you can respond intentionally to the things that happen in your life and feel like yourself again.
Experience:
Jennifer is a Registered Psychotherapist and a Yorkville University graduate with a master’s degree in counselling psychology. She has worked in private and group practice supporting clients in their mental health and wellness goals. She has also volunteered with support lines providing crisis intervention.
Client Focus: Individuals (21+)
Types of therapy: CBT, EMDR, Trauma informed, Solution Focused, Person Centered
Problem: Clients are sometimes apprehensive about the type of relationship they can have with
the therapist. They are uncertain if they can fully open up and express their issues and whether
the therapy will help.
Solution: I approach each client as an individual with the desire to provide them comfort by
approaching their issues holistically. Then, in collaboration with the client, I am able to identify
and agree upon the therapeutic process that is attuned to their specific issues, needs, and what
they desire to achieve from therapy.
Result: I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment and value the
importance of the therapeutic relationship so they can move forward with ease.

More than just my work:
I was fortunate to grow up in an open and equitable environment that inspired individuality while
providing the protection and sense of security of a collective environment. This helped me relate
to Herman Hesse’s saying, “Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can
retreat at any time and be yourself.” Varied dance forms and music from around the world have
attracted me since a young age, bringing me peace and joy. I also love cooking, yoga and
meditation. These are aspects of my inner sanctuary.
